Teacher, Kate O' Neill makes presentation to Maureen O' Sullivan

Maureen O’ Sullivan, in her new role as TD, recently made her first official
visit back to St. Mary’s Secondary School, Baldoyle.

It was a very special occasion for Maureen, the staff and students.

Following an early morning meeting in Dail Eireann, Maureen arrived in the school around 10.30 am. She first visited the classes that she taught last year prior to her election. She was delighted to meet up with her former English, History and Guidance students.

During the morning break, the staff made a special presentation to her to mark her election to the Dail. Maureen brought plenty of cakes for the break in addition to what was already laid out.

Maureen met up with old friends in the staff room after which there was a special full school assembly in the hall. The Principal, Siobhan O’Connell, spoke about service that Maureen had given St. Mary’s and that she was deeply indebted to her. She praised her for all the effort and time that she had put into her teaching of English and History and that of Career Guidance. The Head Girls, Chenee Rabe and Rebecca Dunwoody made a special presentation of flowers to Maureen. Maureen spoke about her time in St. Mary’s and highlighted the role that women can play in today’s society.
